February 23, 2024 Responsibilities Provides on-going management, supervision, and administration of the Registrar's Office, identifying priorities, assigning workload, and reviewing existing operations to identify problems and implement revised methods and procedures.

Controls and manages Registrar's Office operating budget.Responsible for the Academic Advising Office which strives to ensure students' overall academic success.Responsible for the Writing Centre program at a leadership level and supervises the Coordinator, Writing Centre who acts as the key resource.Manages the academic record-keeping function to ensure the efficient and accurate collection of data, maintenance and updating of the student information system.Provides on-going student information system support to the Registrar's Office and contributes to the effective operation of the University by identifying and recommending measures to improve the record-keeping and registration process.Collaborates with other directors/managers to ensure consistent implementation and application of approved policies and procedures within the Registrar's Office.Develops, coordinates, and publishes the University timetable and course offerings; establishes dates for academic calendar.Establishes registration schedules, processes, and activities.Allocates classrooms for regular classes.Establishes formula for final examinations.

Prepares official final examination schedules.Confirms all candidates for graduation.Administers the University in-course awards program and the renewal of entrance awards.Controls a number of academic decision-making functions including:

directing the implementation of the University's regulations concerning course registration; determining academic standing (probation, dismissal, Dean's List) of all students on an annual basis; processing grades, reviewing all transfer credits for students; exercising judgement on student exemptions from academic regulations; determining eligibility for graduation; awarding in-course scholarships, bursaries and loans; and renewing entrance scholarships.Acts as the financial liaison with the Comptroller on student financial information and procedures.Ex officio voting member of Senate.Ex officio Secretary of Senate.Ex officio member of the Senate Admissions & Academic Standing Committee providing information and recommendations regarding policies on admissions, awards, and student appeals.Ex officio member of the Senate Curriculum Committee providing information and recommendations regarding new courses and programmes.

Qualifications A university degree, preferably at the Master's level.Significant, progressive senior leadership experience in a post-secondary institution with supervisory, operational, and administrative duties.Familiarity with academic record-keeping principles as they relate to post-secondary education.Understanding of student information systems, experience with Ellucian is an asset.Knowledge of the University's academic programs, regulations, services, and character.Competent skills and analytical ability in advising, communication, problem-solving, and organization.Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with a diverse set of demands and university stakeholders and the ability work collegially and effectively within a unionized environment.The capacity to balance multiple priorities.WORKING CONDITIONS:

Regular need to give close and timely attention to material connected with all aspects of the Registrar's Office operation, often within strict and limited timeframes.
