Guardian’s Fixed Income (Bond) department is looking for an individual interested in pursuing and developing a career in the Fixed Income segment of the capital markets.
Working closely with the Fixed Income Team in an exciting live market environment, the candidate will work alongside our Portfolio Managers to develop tools for managing global corporate bond portfolios, analyze and research capital markets trade opportunities, assist with maintaining data for presentations and conduct periodic ESG reviews of issuers as applicable.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Developing credit related trading tools for portfolio management; Independently researching investment strategies for the credit team; Developing tools in conjunction with our risk management team to augment existing bond portfolio risk analytics; Highlighting relative value trade ideas; Assisting in the preparation of marketing our investment vehicles; Reviewing ESG rankings of issuers and collaborating with our Responsible Investing team; and Providing support on all aspects of the portfolio management process as required, including serving as back-up portfolio manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
University degree (preferably in business or finance/accounting, and preferably mathematically/quant oriented) Minimum of 3+ years of relevant investment management experience CFA designation Strong financial analysis and modeling skills, including the ability to analyze and assess the business and financial risks of a company Excellent Excel skills (with VBA an asset) Experience with Bloomberg, BBXL required and willingness to use Bloomberg BQL Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain complex issues Professional work ethic, ability to manage tasks and maintain confidentiality Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment COMPENSATION :
