Following the rubrics of our culinary mission will allow the candidate to share their wealth of knowledge and experience in guiding our culinary team in creating a paramount journey for our guests.
Key Responsibilities -Be the leader, mentor and trainer to all the SousChefs -Intense scrutiny of quality and cost control principles -Ensure all SousChefs are following all reporting processes with respect to policy and compliance -Liaises with the Human Resources department to ensure payroll and scheduling are following all specified guidelines -Lead the team on creating new menus and guidance with specialty projects -Key leader in driving buffet concept at the resort -Key liaison between the purchasing department and the culinary team -Major focus on food product quality control and sourcing new items for the different outlets -Well rounded professional with multifaceted abilities from restaurant cooking to banquets, fine dining, and international coking -Keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards, debris, and litter -Perform all job duties in a safe and responsible manner -Adhere to departmental quality standards -Perform other related and compatible duties as assigned What You'll Require -Minimum 10 years of multifaceted culinary experience -Must have Red Seal -Sanitation certification -WHMIS -Culinarian who is excited by an ever-changing workplace and one that provides several different types of opportunities to grow and develop -Strong people management skills -Well rounded in all areas of the kitchen including a basic knowledge of Pastry -Must participate in a three (3) course cooking test during interview process -Experience in banquet or catering would be a plus -White table cloth or casual dining restaurant experience required -Excellent customer service skills -French language skills (verbal and written) are an asset, not essential -Strong written and verbal communication skills and good computer skills -Candidates must have attained/or have the ability to attain prior to their start date the proof of completion certificate for the on-line Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness in 5 Steps program offered through the Ontario Ministry of Labor.
