The SeniorEmbeddedDeveloper contributes to designing, testing, implementing, and maintaining consumer-level products for use in the water treatment industry.
Duties and responsibilities:
Design, prototype and validate embedded hardware for water treatment applications.
Make recommendations and implement new technologies and improvements to existing products.
Design and implement custom protocols and encryption standards to create secure and reliable communication for embedded systems.
Maintain best practices during embedded software development through proper architecture and code reviews.
Design and implement testing routines to validate product changes.
Collaborate with multi-discipline engineering team through-out the project lifecycle for various developmental and design needs.
Review and improve code for performance and efficiency, implement best practices for efficient and robust development.
Develop custom tools and techniques for testing and verification.
Take lead on projects; provide a detailed product design, project timeline, work breakdown and estimated project costs based on a product concept.
Communicate and work with external vendors and manufacturers to achieve project goals.
Collaborate with production to assist in product rollout; develop testing equipment and criteria as well as generate assembly and associated safety procedures.
Provide technical assistance and support to sales and production team when needed.
Identify complex problems and review related information to evaluate design options and implement the best solution.
Help establish vision, planning and coordination of software development and/or implementation activities.
Experience and Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related Technical Degree.
Minimum 5 years of embedded development experience with PIC/STM32 controllers and C/C++.
Proven product development experience.
Fluent in English both written and spoken.
High degree of familiarity with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
Demonstrated ability to master and adapt to new technologies and tools quickly.
Proven track record working autonomously.
Knowledge of encryption and ability to design secure software solutions.
Ability to design electronic circuits, selecting components and preparing cost and timing estimates based on project goals.
Ability to set-up hardware equipment in support of software development tasks (i.e.
configure software development environment, debugging tools, etc.).
Exposure to real-time programming concepts (VxWorks, QNX, etc).
Ability to convey clear technical instructions, explain how the components work, and field any technical questions.
