WHAT YOU’LL DO Technical Develop, maintain, deliver, and continually enhance reports and dashboards for use by our Insurance Underwriting and Operations leadership teams Design and implement ETL procedures and processes for intake and analysis of data from both internal and outside sources Perform data quality checks, troubleshoot ETL failures, and perform corrective measures to ensure data availability, accuracy, and completeness Perform regular monitoring, tuning, and database performance analysis of existing Data Warehouses/Data Marts Design and implement extensions of new/existing Data Warehouses/ Data Marts, meta data, and data models Maintain and upgrade of existing department reporting to BI solutions Provide support as required to ensure the availability and performance of developed reports and dashboards for both external and internal users Teamwork Participate in business analysis activities to gather required reporting and dashboard requirements Translate business requirements into specifications that will be used to implement the required reports and dashboards, created from potentially multiple data sources Work with business leaders to leverage available data to look for new methods to manage business processes and productivity Prioritize work deliverables and small initiatives for both internal and external requests based on changing business needs (deadlines, costs, scope of projects) Provide technical assistance and cross training to other team members Shares best practices with other team members, thus ensuring consistency across BUs and channels in the way MANULIFE does business, and in its delivery of products and services Risk Management & Innovation Identify and support technology best practices, guidelines and repeatable processes Collaborate with other reporting teams and individually research new technologies/methods to improve data processing/report production and usage Proactively identify and raise awareness of changes in Manulife’s data governance policies that will impact the Insurance Underwriting team Think big and keep current on market and industry trends and new product and services affecting the business area and the Company. HOW YOU’LL SUCCEED Skills & Experience Extensive experience with data warehouse architecture development and management Expert knowledge of data gathering, storing, and retrieval methods and experience working with various data platforms; structured and unstructured. Experience with visualization and data processing tools such as Power BI, PowerApps, SQL, QlikView, Tableau, and stored procedures Strong proficiency in dimensional modeling techniques and their applications Experience with Star/Snowflakes schemas preferred Knowledge of developing code, testing for quality assurance, and monitoring of database Strong analytical, consultative, and communication skills Ability to make good judgements and work with both technical and business personnel Excellent organizational skills and well-developed project management skills. Collaborative team ethic, problem solving, and decision-making abilities are expected. Motivated to work with limited supervision to produce quality results and deliver established priorities. Being comfortable to shift with changing priorities/deadlines and able to handle multiple projects/deadlines at once Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly learn new concepts/processes Who You Are Awareness of Manulife’s Canada segment structure, our Insurance business, and our data environment(s) Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, and/or any relevant work experience with Business Intelligence Able to translate issues and problems into effective business solutions. Keen awareness and adherence to privacy and confidentiality of PII data Strong ethical framework to ‘do the right thing’ with data You’re driven to succeed.

- Full Time RemoteSalary range is expected to be between$67,275.00 CAD
