Job Summary The Proteomics Scientist will conduct and manage experiments, analyze, and interpret data, and communicate findings.
They will work collaboratively with teams, troubleshoot technical issues, and guide junior team members.
The ideal candidate has a Ph.D.
in Biochemistry or Analytical Chemistry, demonstrated proteomics expertise, and experience with sample preparation, LC-MS/MS, and data analysis.
Strong analytical skills, project management, and teamwork are required, as well as excellent communication and presentation skills.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities Provide massspectrometry expertise to support Dalriada’s drugdiscovery programs.
Execute MS-based assays to facilitate compound screening, identify protein targets, elucidate mechanism of action, and support medicinal chemistry efforts.
Use, maintain, and troubleshoot high-resolution mass spectrometers (Orbitrap and TOF), and LC instruments.
Develop and conduct massspectrometry methods for structural characterization of intact and digested proteins.
Design and conduct proteomic experiments (including experimental design, data collection, interpretation, and presentation).
Troubleshoot and develop technical solutions to optimize experiments for robust data output.
Train and supervise junior team members.
Monitor, review, and critically interpret published research to support experimental efforts.
Carefully document research workflows, data, and protocols.
Maintain lab notebooks and document the experimental results in database.
Prepare data summaries and reports to communicate project status among diverse audiences such as project teams and executive boards.
Education & Certifications PhD or MSc in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, or related discipline.
Post-graduate lab experience in drugdiscovery settings is desirable but not necessary.
Requirements Deep knowledge and demonstrated history in MS-based analysis and quantification.
Experience in the operation and maintenance of HRMS and LC instruments.
Experience in intact mass protein analysis and peptide mapping analysis.
Experience with any of the following is a definite asset:
protein characterization, proteomics, TOF-MS, ADME assays.
Experience with related software such as MassHunter, BioConfirm, Skyline, PEAKS, Proteome Discoverer, etc.) is desired.
Proficient in relevant programs for data analysis and visualization, e.g., GraphPad Prism, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word.
Ability to analyze, interpret, and present scientific data, and propose next steps in experimental design and project strategy.
