The Project Manager will sometimes work directly with branches (Service Manager, Supervisors and Technicians) in person or virtually to evaluate and recommend solutions for investment and continuous improvement projects.

He/she will be responsible for planning, directing and managing assignments in a timely and fiscally responsible manner, with a high degree of creativity and latitude to meet the company's facility utilization requirements.

He/she will also monitor, measure and summarize results.

Support the maintenance team in organizing and performing assigned tasks related to Pointe-Claire maintenance operations, such as accounting, implementing tenant requests and preventive maintenance services as required Manage planned, unplanned and emergency situations requiring a high degree of technical expertise and organizational skills The Project Manager will sometimes work directly with branches (Service Manager, Supervisors and Technicians) in person or virtually to evaluate and recommend solutions for investment and continuous improvement projects This will include construction management and administration, as assigned Prepare work plans, then direct, organize and supervise approved projects, including initial drawings and budgets Demonstrate and apply sound supplier evaluation and selection throughout the company Prepare detailed project plans including identification of risks and business disruptions.

Implement a communication plan with the business unit Provide work-around options and solutions as part of work plans to minimize business disruption Virtual management more than 60% of time Prepare reports for management on project status Evaluate and support branch-approved project requests and provide details necessary to prepare documentation for approvals Participate in continuous improvement by contributing to the development, implementation and maintenance of change controls for our specialized environments, balancing brand standards and practices with current market trends and corporate objectives Ensure expense control, as assigned.

Must-haves for this role:

Training in a relevant discipline (construction and engineering, facilities management and administration, skilled trade) combined with three to five years' experience in a facilities management and real estate planning function or department Skilled trades, technicians or technologists Multidisciplinary engineering experience in plant, shop, warehouse or office applications, including architecture, civil engineering, building control systems and security systems Construction management, accounting and administrative experience Ability to read and understand existing construction plans for all disciplines.

Basic proficiency in AutoCAD and CAD applications would be an asset Good project management and contractor skills in facilities management Change management and diplomacy skills Application of legal standards and practices (environmental / contract management / building code compliance) Quality of service, products delivered and awareness of corporate image as part of an international brand Understanding of various software applications and firmware Candidates must hold a valid driver's license and be able to travel as required About Toromont Cat With over 7,000 employees and 56 locations from Manitoba to Newfoundland, Toromont Cat has a proven track record, industry knowledge, dealership infrastructure, and service mindset to ensure our Construction, Mining, and Power Generation customers succeed.
