General Summary:
This position will be responsible for payroll processing for a population of 150+ employees and the coordination of all statutory filings, primarily to local, provincial, and federal tax authorities.
Responsibilities:
? Prepare, process, and review full-cycle bi-weekly payroll (Ceridian Dayforce / Powerpay) for all Canadian salaried and hourly employees.
Review, reconcile, and ensure accuracy of payroll to the accounting system Validate and process employee data changes including hires, terminations, and other employment changes Maintain time and attendance, absences, vacation in the payroll system Manage and administer the year-end process for payroll Benefits administration:
update and maintain employee health benefits as required ? Manage/Coordination of the statutory reporting requirements for the Company.
Ensure compliance/reporting with federal and provincial requirements, specifically relating to WSIB, HST, GST, tax withholding, health tax, and other similar requirements Assist with the income tax filing Manage the installment payments process for taxes and other fees Prepare ad-hoc analysis, reports, and summaries as required Reconcile all accounts with the G/L as required ? Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
• Degree or Diploma in Business, Finance, or Accounting • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role • Strong knowledge of payroll standards and procedures • Strong understanding of federal and provincial statutory requirements / legislation • Proficient in MS Office and advanced level in Excel • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills • Ability to work independently and within a team environment • Excellent people skills • Relishes change and enjoys new challenges and possibilities • Overcomes obstacles and able to deliver results We offer a hybrid-working environment and an attractive compensation package including extended health benefits, life insurance, and a defined contribution pension plan.
