If you are looking for a place where you can help transform the way that finance engages with an organization, how we plan, and how we make decisions, then this opportunity is for you!   You will be responsible for managing the FP&A team including, but not limited to planning (budgets & forecasts), finance business partnering, and management / board reporting.

In addition, you will help identify, guide, and drive innovation, coordinate change management, lead successful execution of projects that are transformative to the business, enable organization growth, and generate process efficiencies.

Key responsibilities include:

Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, periodic management reporting (including board material), etc., and ensuring the team is effectively communicating results to enhance and enable decision making, which includes proactively identifying and signaling risks and issues impacting financial results in advance of the risks materializing.

Lead budget / forecast processes and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure buy-in from leadership through implementing driver-based modelling and enabling better scenario planning & what-if analysis.

Support Finance Business Partners (5) in establishing and maintaining relationship with different Lines of Business, including driving optimal outcomes by supporting decision-making through the understanding outcomes, reviewing of assumptions, financial modelling, challenging the status quo, and ensuring alignment with strategy.

Collaborate with Accounting on month-end process and adherence to internal controls, ensuring the integrity of the financial information reported and assisting in providing guidance and review of month-end accruals.

Key qualifications include:

- 10+ years of progressive industry experience in FP&A, finance business partnering, or corporate finance; at least 3+ years in manager role (leading a team of 3 or more); supplemented by a post-secondary degree and a CPA designation, CFA, or MBA.

Extensive experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost controlling, reporting and analysis, including “what-if” analysis and scenario modelling.

Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and model out complex financial transactions as well as translate results into effective reporting to stakeholders.

Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and communication with an exceptional ability to think critically and challenge the status-quo.

Passionate about data-driven discussions, giving finance a narrative, and finding ways to bring the “aha” moments and deep level of insights that influence big decisions.

Expert Excel and PowerPoint skills; financial modeling is one of your super-powers; experience in Power BI or similar dashboard visualization tool is also preferred.

This position is open to both Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external applicants.
