Position Overview:
The position encompasses a range of duties in the field of maintenance, where the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the professional upkeep of our residential / commercial properties for the benefit of those who live in, work at, or visit a Kevington property.
The Lead Technician will play a vital role in investigating, identifying, and solving a variety of property maintenance matters both small and large.
As well as, work with other members of the maintenance team and 3rd parties to resolve reported maintenance matters.
The successful candidate will have vast industry related experience and a range of expertise along with a strong skill set that will allow them to investigate, problem-solve, and conduct physical repairs.
A friendliness and sense of decorum is a must as the role involves the work to be performed in occupied apartment suites and commercial businesses.
Skillset:
Multidisciplinary background, knowledgeable in:
? Finishing Carpentry, Drywall Repair and Painting ? Competent Plumbing and Electrical knowledge and repair ability ? General Handyman and renovation capabilities ? Household appliance troubleshooting and basic repairs ? Familiarity with residential and commercial building HVAC and emergency systems ? Attention to detail, good time management and workspace cleanliness ? Clear communication skills and the ability to use email, WhatsApp, and comfort with technology including navigating the internet and apps in general ? Compliance with legislation including the Residential Tenancy Act and Fire Code ? Foresight and excellent problem-solving, trouble shooting ability ? Strong time management skills and ability to work alone and with the team Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
? Help organize and perform preventive, scheduled building and equipment maintenance ? Complete a wide range of general maintenance repairs ranging from Carpentry, Plumbing, ? Appliance, and Electrical in order of importance on a timely basis to ensure resident satisfaction and safety following priority guidelines and update the work order form daily ? Perform scheduled, preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance as directed by the Operations Manager or Communications Coordinator and record activities utilizing digital Maintenance Work Order Forms ? Mentor and when appropriate, mentor and guide teammates in the proper and effective execution of their maintenance duties ? Assist with Event related projects at different properties as needed ? Report on all completed service requests daily ? Independently complete work assigned in a timely manner ? Maintain and ensure proper operation of the electrical, mechanical, and fire/life/safety components at each property ? Take photos of deficiencies and finished work as required for documenting maintenance repairs and damage utilizing digital reporting channel ? Ensure all company tools and equipment are maintained and serviced regularly ? Emergency response and on-call duty, as required ? Ensure compliance with all legislation, including but not limited to:
The Residential Tenancies Act, Fire Code and Occupational Health and Safety Act ? Must be able to lift at least 25 kilograms, and be able to work on ladders of various heights ? Fill in and assist all team members when coverage is needed by maintenance personnel and Building Operators, and all related duties ? Other related duties as required Experience and Qualifications:
? Four or more years of general related experience preferred ? Valid BC Drivers license and clear driving record ? Must come with standard personal hand tools, power tools will be provided.
? Superior ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships with staff and third party trades ? Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and written ? Familiarity with smartphone and tablet technology ? Prior training in Fall safety and Scissor lift operation an asset but, must be willing to be trained ? Red seal trade background an asset but, not required ? Must be willing to complete a Police Information Check (criminal record) and provide References COVID-19 Vaccination:
