The successful candidate’s roles and responsibilities will include:
Responsibilities Successfully execute piping design projects Develop process flow sheets and/or design piping and equipment layouts, coordinate general design approach Approve flow sheet components, hardware and/or proprietary items Perform and check engineering calculations for the sizing and selection of pumps, heat exchangers, and pressure controlling devices Approve components and equipment and approve specifications generated by other team members Suggest solutions to inconsistencies in design specifications or design requirements to Project Managers and initiate corrective action Perform reviews and / or check critical design calculations, stamp drawings as required by legislation, standardization, policy, or customer requirement Approve drawings and content Approve overall approach to detailing Approve required specifications for design package Approve special reports, suggest unique solutions, participate in discussions with Sr.
staff Develop discipline manpower schedules Develop project budgets, schedules and quality standards Monitor changes in scope of work Qualifications and Education Engineering Degree, University Level P.
Eng required (CDN) 8+ years relevant working experience Ability to think logically and creatively Organized and self-directed, task and goal oriented Effective, efficient, and professional in the execution of all required tasks Knowledge of additional engineering discipline Ability and desire to learn new software, applications, knowledge, and skills Familiar with AFT Fathom/Arrow for analysis of piping systems Experience applying CSA B149.1, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3 and ASME BPVC Section VIII in industrial settings Steel/Mining Industry experience (asset) JNE is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing an inclusive, barrier free workplace.
