THE OPPORTUNITY The Editor-in-Chief position is a newly created role due to the growth of the organization and critical to the ongoing success of the business.

As the Editor-in-Chief, you will focus on the following:

Host Built to Sell Radio:

as the host, you will approve and interview guests on a weekly basis.

Your mission is to tease out the transferrable tactics listeners can use to grow the value of their business and to punch above their weight when selling it.

Built to Sell Blog:

a regular article, inspired by a Built to Sell Radio story, about protecting, growing, or realizing the value of a business.

Nurture Cycle email for Built to Sell Radio:

write a compelling description of a Built to Sell Radio episode to be used by advisors to promote each episode.

Monthly Nurture Cycle Article:

using a Built to Sell Radio guest as an example and drawing on Value Builder data, write a 500–700-word article describing a tactic for protecting, growing, or realizing the value of a business.

Overseeing BuiltToSell.com.

Working with our contract developers, you will oversee all aspects of the website www.BuiltToSell.com Oversee the growth of Built to Sell social channels including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram.

Develop a quarterly eBook for business owners:

Drawing on interviews with Built to Sell Radio guests, Value Builder data, secondary research, and primary interviews, develop a 2,000
- 3,000-word eBook that describes an actionable strategy owners can use to protect, grow and/or realize the value in their business.

Manage an Executive Producer who handles recruiting guests, producing the show, negotiating with advertisers, and promoting the show through social channels including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.

ESSENTIAL DELIVERABLES & REQUIRED SKILLS To succeed in the role, the new leader must depth of experience in the following:

Writing You must be an exceptional writer, truly top 1%.

You must be someone who can clearly and succinctly communicate a business concept, position the benefits of the idea, and provide advice that will improve the value of a company.

Experience developing “how to” content for small business owners.

You understand the plight of a small business owner and their need for practical, actionable tips.

Your writing is not overly academic, highbrow, or theoretical.

Instead, it is down-to-earth and accessible.

Experience writing strategy and position papers, e-books etc.

Moderation and interviewing Experience hosting long format audio (podcast or radio) Experience hosting panels Business Acumen You need to have a very high level of business acumen.

You have written for a business media outlet (e.g., Globe and Mail, CNBC, Inc Magazine) or be able to demonstrate a high degree of fluency in the language of business.

You need to have the depth of experience to not only write about the idea, but provide advice on how to implement it to drive the valuation of a company.

You need to be interested in business.

You listen to business podcasts, consume business media daily.

You have first-hand knowledge of what it’s like to run your own business or can speak with a high degree of empathy for someone who does.

You understand the struggles of running a small business at a visceral level.

Data Analysis You possess the ability to analyze data and see patterns (i.e., translate data into insight), an ability to analyze data in Excel.
