The new Director will also review and refine both the retail and wholesale operations as they have recently amalgamated into a 150,000-square-foot DC and run a satellite operation on Vancouver Island.
Warehousing and housekeeping disciplines will need to be enhanced to operate in this combined facility.
Working closely and building strong relationships with the whole Senior Management Team and industry players will play a key role in aligning the transportation and warehousing division to improve customer experiences, control costs and ensure that the company operates as a cohesive team across all departments.Recent company investments in technology will provide the new Director with better data, analytics and reporting, creating opportunities to improve efficiencies and productivity for distribution and warehousing teams.
As additional technologies come online, these opportunities will continue to grow.
Fleet and driver management are key elements of this role, as drivers have a direct customer interface and products can be fragile.
Strengthening the team to think broadly about company-wide interests, enhance a continuous improvement culture, and provide innovative solutions to customer and company problems will be key to the new Director’s success.As the ideal candidate you are a seasoned manager who brings experience in outbound logistics, including fleet management and warehousing with a retail or other business-to-consumer organization, and/or wholesale distributor.
As the successful candidate you will have the demonstrated ability to improve the transportation logistics of a complex customer-oriented operation and lead a warehouse team with a continuous improvement focus.
Experience working in, or familiarity with, an omni-channel environment will be of significant value.
Demonstrated experience introducing new initiatives, implementing analytics to support outbound transportation and distribution activities, managing special projects, and enhancing the professionalism and effectiveness of a team will be highly valued.Based in Metro Vancouver, this is a tremendous opportunity for a transportation/distribution/logistics leader to build on a solid foundation, improve efficiencies in a recently amalgamated facility and improve a distribution network for a respected brand as they grow an e-commerce platform and continue to expand.As per the new BC Pay Transparency Act, we can no longer ask candidates what they are being/have been paid.
