This includes month-end and year-end processes; preparation of detailed financial information relating to payroll and salary budget expense and liability transactions from the corporate financial systems for the Compensation Analyst to prepare the salary budget, variances, and annual forecast.
The successful candidate will also maintain and manage the accounting functions for YVRPM, a subsidiary of the company and assist with all year-end and pension plan audits. Key responsibilities include:
Calculate and prepare all payroll and employee benefit accruals, including the pension plans, executive and excluded employee pension and incentive compensation programs at all levels of the organization, as well as the capitalized labour accruals Prepare month-end and year-end accruals and enters all the journal entries to the corporate financial system before the deadlines for financial reporting and variance analysis purposes Reconcile all payroll accounts and payroll-related inter-company accounts, including YVRPM, on a monthly basis and deliver to the Payroll Team to investigate discrepancies Liaise with the Finance Business Partner, Salaries & Wages by providing detailed information to allow them to prepare the annual salary budgets for all departments Lead the annual Payroll and Pension Plan Audits for the AirportAuthority including providing various working papers and schedules Prepare, coordinate, and update the capitalized labour requirements on a quarterly basis Key qualifications include:
Minimum of 5 years of combined accounting and payroll experience Holds Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation Expert level knowledge of MS Office programs, especially Excel and Word Strong knowledge of pension plans, including the accounting for benefit pensions an asset Strong knowledge of GAAP and multi-module computerized accounting software, such as Ceridian and Oracle Knowledge of payroll processing in a unionized environment, including hourly employees, is an asset Who We Are YVR is more than just an airport.
